Arizona Memorial and the U.S.S. Missouri — “The Mighty ‘Mo” Tour
If you’re an avid history buff or simply interested in seeing a battleship up-close, our “Mighty Mo” Tour is customized just for you. After exploring the Arizona Memorial, you’ll head to Ford Island in a privately chartered Jeep for an in-depth look at the amazing U.S.S. Missouri, or “Mighty Mo.”

Once you arrive at this historic venue, you’ll meet with a knowledgeable tour guide from the National Park Service, who will escort you throughout the ship, answer questions regarding the battleship’s role in World War II, and take you on a journey back in time to the ship’s glory days. You’ll have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of General Douglas MacArthur and explore the very place where Japan surrendered to the Allies, an act which ended World War II. This extraordinary tour is a must-do during your stay in Hawaii, especially if you have a keen interest in Hawaii, American, and world history. Tour duration approx. 4.5 hours (with Heart add-on approx 5 hours).

  • What exactly does it take to move a ship three football fields long at a speed of nearly 40 MPH?
  • How does one 16-inch gun fire a 2,700 pound projectile to an incredible 23 miles with pinpoint accuracy?

Not only will this tour answer some of your most sought after questions about one of history’s most dominant warships, but you’ll get hands on training with lessons on lighting off one of the eight three-story Babcock and Wilcox boilers. Grab onto the throttles releasing the steam which drives the ship’s massive propellers. Venture down Broadway, the longest and widest passage on the ship and meet (via video) the ship’s last Chief Engineer who will explain the work of the “snipes,” the men who worked below the water line in the heart of the Missouri. And if you’re up to it, test your firing skills in the aft plotting room, where you will enter data into the Missouri’s giant analog computers and pull the trigger that fires the big guns!

U.S.S Arizona Memorial & Pacific Aviation Museum
Our favorite package to recommend, the Pacific Aviation Museum is a must see! You’ll experience both the Arizona Memorial and the Pacific Aviation museum on this tour. You’ll avoid the Big Buses and be taken privately to Ford Island where it all began on that fateful day!! This is the location that Imperial Japanese Naval forces’ bombs where first dropped onto Pearl Harbor – Luke Airfield at Ford Island. Ford Island’s airfields and hangars are home to ties to the life of celebrity flyers, such as Amelia Earhart’s ground-loop in 1937 and a display of the actual Stearman N2S-3 which former president George H.W. Bush learned to fly while he served in the navy during World War II.

On display are several exhibits and historical artifacts. See a large wall mural in hangar 37 depicting Ford Island as it looked just before the Pearl Harbor attacks, helping you to understand how the ships were laid anchored around the perimeter of Battleship Row. View the bullet-riddled windows set high in hangar 79 and see the actual bullet striations left by the attacks on the air field. Try your luck at taking off and landing in a flight simulator. The Pacific Aviation Museum will undoubtedly please visitors of all ages. Tour duration approx. 4.5 hours.
